Admission Information for Chinese Language Program for International Students

1. Program Information

Chinese Language Program is available for International students. The application is open in autumn semester. The language program runs for one semester. Besides language courses, some featured courses and culture tours are also available.

2. Qualification to Apply: 

1Healthy Non-Chinese citizen over 18 years old
2
High school diploma or above

3Non-Chinese with a valid passport.

3. Application Procedures:

1 Complete the Application Form for International Students at NWUPL in Chinese or English;

2 Send the application form and the PHOTOCOPY of the required documents to the e-mail address: sie@nwupl.edu.cn.

* Documents Required for Admission Application:

1Original or notarized documents of certification of high school diploma (graduating students could provide the graduation certificate); Or Certificate of Enrollment of university;

2Original or notarized documents of complete academic transcripts issued by high school; Or applicant’s transcript at university;

3Valid passport and passport photo;

4Physical examination record(within last 4 months, PHYSICAL EXAMINATION RECORD FOR FOREIGNER);

5Evidence of financial circumstances (proof of parents’ income or bank statements);

6Police certificate of having no criminal record within last 4 months;

7Recommendation letter of applicant’s school.

Please note that (1) for non-Chinese materials, notarized documents of Chinese version are required(2) the application materials will not be returned whether the applicant is admitted or notand that (3) Original documents should be presented on enrollment.

After the online interview and material review,  considering the applicantsEducational backgroundAcademic levelsLanguage abilityIdentification documents and Financial stability, the admission results will be notified via telephone or email before 1st August. Thereafter, admission letters and JW202 Forms will be sent to the final confirmed students.

6. Registration Date

Early September. Please refer to the Admission Notice for International Students at NWUPL for exact time of registration. In view of the COVID-19 pandemicthe students will be enrolled conditionally. The condition is "the students are not allowed to arrive in China and school before the stipulated date, and the students suffers no symptom of COVID-19 pandemic in the past 14 days when they arrive in china and school for registration. If there is any violation, the admission is invalid". The student will sign a letter of commitment before admission.

7. Fees

1Tuition fees: 8000 RMB per semester

2Accommodation fees: 1500 RMB per semester

3Textbook cost: 300 RMB per semester

4Insurance fees: 400 RMB per semester

5Fees for checking Physical Examinations: 350 RMB.

8. Scholarships

The University offers "the Belt and Road" Scholarship for International Students, which includes basic scholarship (total waiver of tuition fees, accommodation fees, insurance fees and textbook cost) and living allowance. Students can apply basic scholarship according to personal conditions, and will be informed of the application results together with the Admission Notice. Living allowance can be applied in accordance with comprehensive performance after enrollment. After registration at school, students can also apply for Shaanxi Sanqin Scholarship for International Students and Xi’an " the Belt and Road" Scholarship for International Students.

9. Accommodation

Students will be arranged in double-person dorms in the student halls of residence in Chang’an Campus with private bathroom, shower and air-conditioner.
